Steve Haswell is one of the new breed of Trade resident DJs currently
making his mark on the UK dance map as a DJ and Producer.
DJing since 1990 in and around the North East of England Steve moved
to London in 1998 to work for one of London's leading cutting edge Dance
stores, Pure Groove Records Now resident DJ at Turnmills - London for
over two years, playing his unique style of pumpin' house music in the
main room and feisty disco house in Trade's Lite-Lounge, leads to the
continuing demand for Steve to guest around Europe, the US and Russia.
'Steve is very versatile; with the ability to play both floors at Turnmills.
Whatever he plays, he play is to perfection.' Malice states.
Based on his growing success as a DJ and due to the above, Steve was
asked to produce Trade's debut release on their disco-house label "Trade-Lite".
His funky first release delivered Trade with there a Top 40 Club hit with
the appropriately titled "Here I Come".
Steve's follow up track, "Set Me Free", also on the same label,
achieved an equally impressive showing, reaching number one status in
the Music Week's "Breakers Chart". Not all his productions have
been on a solo basis. Teaming up with Alan Thompson they released "Love
Control" under the guise of Flipside. The full-on disco vocal house
track that received full radio and club support from a variety of DJs
including Alistair Whitehead, Tim Lennox and Boy George with plays on
Radio One, Kiss and Galaxy Radio.
Kickin' Records also recently commissioned Steve to remix Jonah's "Yeah
Right". Both mixes - one funky and one harder, have received a host
of excellent reviews across the board from Radio One's Judge Jules to
Kiss FM's Graham Gold. With more DJing, releases and remixes planned its
time to check out this up and coming producer and get on one of the new
breed.
